NHL: Chicago 3, Columbus 0

CHICAGO, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Cristobal Huet earned his fourth shutout of the season Thursday and halted Chicago's two-game skid by leading the Blackhawks past Columbus 3-0.

Huet is in his second year with Chicago after having played for Los Angeles, Montreal and Washington during the five previous NHL seasons. He has 24 career shutouts, seven of which came during the 2005-06 campaign.

Chicago scored in each period, the first goal coming from Brian Campbell 61 seconds into the game. Dustin Byfuglien produced a goal with 3:20 left in the second period and Duncan Keith, who will play for Canada in the upcoming Olympics, finished the scoring 6:32 into the third.

All three goals came at even strength against Mathieu Garon, who made 33 saves.

Chicago will play Columbus again Saturday at the start of an eight-game road trip. The Blackhawks increased their lead over second-place Nashville to nine points in the Central Division.
