BB&T, Childress Racing extend partnership

WELCOME, N.C., Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Richard Childress Racing and the BB&T Corporation have extended their partnership for the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup season.

BB&T bank, based in Winston-Salem, N.C., will be the chief sponsor of Clint Bowyer's No. 33 Chevrolet Impala at races in Richmond, Va. (Crown Royal 400), the Sprint All-Star Race (Concord, N.C., on May 22) and six other Sprint races.

"The BB&T/RCR partnership has been successful both on the track and in the marketplace," Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing said Thursday. "We appreciate their continued commitment to RCR and the sport as a whole."

"From the top down, RCR is always committed to helping BB&T create meaningful programs that generate excitement with our clients and prospective clients," said BB&T Chief Marketing Officer Steve Wiggs.

Bowyer, an Emporia, Kansas native, did not win any Sprint Cup races in 2009 and finished 15th in the Series' points race, earning over $4 million.
