PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Ryan Brooks scored 15 points Wednesday and No. 21 Temple put together 14 straight points beginning late in the first half to defeat Pennsylvania 60-45.
The Owls held a 26-24 advantage with 2:26 to play in the opening period, then scored the final seven points of the half. Temple also scored the first seven of the second half to open a 40-24 cushion.
Juan Fernandez added 12 points for Temple, which improved to 14-3. The Owls own a 3-1 record against the Quakers since one-time Pennsylvania coach Fran Dumphy took over at Temple in 2006.
Pennsylvania (1-11) was led by 14 points from Jack Eggleston. The Quakers are 1-4 since Jerome Allen took over as interim coach.
Temple forced 19 turnovers and limited Pennsylvania to 37 percent shooting.
