COL BKB: Syracuse 81, Rutgers 65

PISCATAWAY, N.J., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- A big overall game from Andy Rautins Wednesday sent No. 5 Syracuse rolling to an 81-65 victory over Rutgers.

Rautins had 23 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and five steals, helping the Orange to their third straight win since their first and only loss this season against Pittsburgh.

Wes Johnson reached 1,000 points for his Syracuse career by scoring 11. Syracuse advanced to 16-1 and to 3-1 in the Big East Conference.

Rutgers lost its fifth in a row after winning six straight. The Scarlet Knights (9-7, 0-4) were led by Mike Rosario with 17.

Syracuse went on an 11-point run late in the first half and owned a 41-23 advantage at intermission.
