NHL: Colorado 3, Calgary 2 (SO)

CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Chris Stewart's shootout goal Monday gave the Colorado Avalanche a 3-2 win over Calgary.

Stewart had also scored a game-tying goal in the second to help Colorado to its fourth victory without a loss this season over the Flames -- and its sixth straight win overall against Calgary.

Craig Anderson stopped 44 shots in regulation for the Avalanche, which has won three of its last five games to join the Flames in a first-place tie atop the Northwest Division.

Paul Stastny scored on the power play for Colorado.

Rene Bourque and Dustin Boyd scored and Miikka Kiprusoff made 19 saves for the Flames, who lost for the third time in their last four games.
