Najera dealt by Nets to Dallas

DALLAS, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Forward Eduardo Najera was traded Monday from the New Jersey Nets to the Dallas Mavericks for a pair of forwards.

The Nets will receive Kris Humphries and Shawne Williams in the deal that returns Najera to the team with which he started his NBA career in 2000-01. The Nets waived Sean Williams to make room on their roster for Humphries and Shawne Williams.

Najera averaged 3.8 points and 2.9 rebounds a game for New Jersey this year. He has averaged 5.3 points and 4 rebounds a game over his career, which included four seasons with the Mavericks and stints with Golden State and Denver.

Humphries, in his fifth NBA season, has career averages of 4.3 points and 3.1 rebounds while Shawnee Williams, in his fourth NBA season, was inactive for each of Dallas's games this season.
