NHL: New York Islanders 5, Phoenix 4 (SO)

GLENDALE, Ariz., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- The New York Islanders came back to beat the Phoenix Coyotes 5-4 in a shootout Saturday after seeing a three-goal lead evaporate in the third period.

Matt Moulson scored the deciding goal in the sixth round of the shootout with a wrist shot that cleanly beat Jason LaBarbera on the stick side.

Josh Bailey had a goal and an assist for New York and Dwayne Roloson made 25 saves. Kyle Okposo, Mark Streit and Blake Comeau added the other goals for the Islanders, who have won three of their last four.

Paul Bissonnette, Taylor Pyatt, Ed Jovanovski and Peter Mueller accounted for the Coyotes' goals. LaBarbera stopped 15 shots prior to the shootout in relief of Ilya Brysgalov, who also faced 15 shots and allowed four goals.

New York led by three at the start of the third period but the Coyotes roared back with three scores in a 3:43 span. Meuller's power-play goal at 9:14 knotted the score at 3-3 and set the stage for overtime.
