COL BKB: Tennessee 78, Kansas 68

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Scotty Hopson and Bobby Maze led 15th-ranked Tennessee to a stunning 76-68 win over No. 1 Kansas Sunday, the Jayhawks' first loss of the season.

The Volunteers (12-2), competing without four players suspended following drug and weapons charges, took a six-point lead on Skylar McBee's 3-pointer with 36 seconds to play and held on for the win.

Hopson finished with 17 points, Maze had 16 and Renaldo Woolridge, connecting on 4-of-6 shots from 3-point range, contributed 14.

The Jayhawks' Sherron Collins was the game's top scorer with 22 points.

Tyshawn Taylor added 13 points, Xavier Henry had 10 and Cole Aldred pulled down 18 rebounds for Kansas (14-1), which made just 37.7 percent of its field goal attempts.
