NHL: Anaheim 4, Detroit 1

ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Jonas Hiller made 38 saves Tuesday and the Anaheim Ducks snapped a three-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory over Detroit.

Saku Koivu, Matt Beleskey, Corey Perry and Kyle Chipchura accounted for the Anaheim goals.

Detroit's lone goal came from Valtteri Filppula. Jimmy Howard faced 34 shots for the Red Wings, who had won two straight coming into the game.

Koivu and Beleskey scored in the first period to give the Ducks a 2-0 lead. Beleskey's score at the left post was his first NHL goal.

After a scoreless second period, Filppula made it 2-1 at 11:03 of the third period with a backhander on a rebound off a shot by Nick Lidstrom.

Perry added an insurance goal at 6:31 and Chipchura scored on an empty net in the final seconds.
