OKLAHOMA CITY, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Chris Paul made a layup with 11.1 seconds remaining Wednesday that helped lift the New Orleans Hornets to a 97-92 victory over Oklahoma City.
Paul's basket gave the Hornets a three-point lead and they held onto that margin when the Thunder's Russell Westbrook missed an attempt to tie it from the corner. James Posey then hit two free throws to account for the final margin of victory.
Kevin Durant scored 27 points for the Thunder, who had a two-point lead to open the fourth quarter.
New Orleans has won 10 in a row against the Oklahoma City franchise dating to December 2006.
