NHL: Los Angeles 6, San Jose 2

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Anze Kopitar and Michal Handzus had a goal and an assist apiece and the Los Angeles Kings beat San Jose 6-2 Monday to end an eight-game Sharks winning streak.

Oscar Moller, Wayne Simmonds, Scott Parse and Ryan Smyth scored goals and Drew Doughty had four assists in the Kings' third consecutive victory. Jonathan Quick posted 45 saves for LA.

Douglas Murray and Patrick Marleau scored goals for the Sharks, who had won eight straight since losing Dec. 12 to Phoenix.

Evgeni Nabokov let in five goals on 16 shots in two periods before coming out of the game for Thomas Greiss, who allowed one goal on four shots.
