SAN DIEGO, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Billy Volek's late touchdown pass Sunday boosted San Diego to a 23-20 win over Washington, extending the Chargers' winning streak to 11 straight games.
Volek played most of the game after San Diego decided to rest starter Phillip Rivers for the post-season playoffs.
He completed 19-of-30 for 216 yards with a game-winning 2-yard scoring pass to Mike Tolbert with 35 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
Malcolm Floyd made nine receptions for 140 yards and Antonio Gates caught a first-quarter scoring pass from Rivers, while Nate Kaeding kicked three field goals for the Chargers (13-3), who will be the No. 2 seed in the AFC Playoffs behind Indianapolis.
Washington's Jason Campbell passed for 281 yards with two touchdowns.
Malcolm Kelly made five receptions for 109 yards, and Graham Gano kicked two field goals for the Redskins (4-12), who lost six of their last seven contests.
Some media reports said they will fire Coach Jim Zorn, possibly on Monday.
