DALLAS, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Roberto Luongo made 31 saves Saturday, backstopping Vancouver's 3-1 victory over Dallas.
Daniel Sedin's power-play goal in the third period turned out to be the game-winner. Ryan Kesler and Alexandre Burrows also scored for the Canucks, who have won five of their last six games.

The Stars got a goal from Loui Eriksson. Marty Turco had 24 saves as the Stars' modest two-game win streak ended.
The two teams battled to a scoreless tie after one period. Vancouver led 1-0 on Kesler's goal when Eriksson knotted it up 37 seconds into the third period. Sedin put the Canucks up for good with his goal off a Stars player at 1:24 and Burrows added an empty-net score for the final margin.
