NHL: Colorado 3, Columbus 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- A goal by T.J. Galiardi with 58 seconds left in regulation gave the Colorado Avalanche a 3-2 win over the swooning Columbus Blue Jackets.

The goal gave the Avalanche their third win in the past four games while Columbus has only one win in their past 13 contests.

Kyle Cumiskey and Chris Stewart also scored for Colorado. Craig Anderson had 26 saves in the victory.

Derick Brassard and Kristian Huselius accounted for the Columbus scoring and Steve Mason turned in 34 saves.

Colorado trailed 2-1 at the start of the third period but Stewart tied the game at 5:28 on an assist from Paul Stastny.

Galiardi scored the deciding goal with time running out after picking off a loose rebound in front of Mason and slipping the puck inside the right post.
