HARTFORD, Conn., Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Stanley Robinson's 22 points and 16 rebounds Saturday paced 10th-ranked Connecticut to an 82-70 Big East Conference win over Notre Dame.
UConn took a 34-32 advantage into the break, but gradually pulled away in the second half.
Robinson's layup ignited a 7-0 run, which led to a 65-58 lead with 5:30 remaining, and Notre Dame could not answer.
Jerome Dyson scored 20 with 10 assists, while Gavin Edwards added 13, Kemba Walker 11 and Charles Okwandu 10 for the Huskies (10-3, 1-1), who have won four of five. Walker also had 10 assists and overcame six turnovers.
Luke Harangody led Notre Dame with 31 points and nine rebounds.
Ben Hansbrough scored 14 and Tyrone Nash added 11 points and eight rebounds for the Fighting Irish (12-3, 1-1), who had won three in a row.
The Irish amassed a 40-30 rebounding advantage.
