NBA: LA Clippers 104, Philadelphia 88

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Chris Kaman and Baron Davis combined to make 19-of-33 shots Thursday in helping the Los Angeles Clippers defeat Philadelphia 104-88.

The 76ers faded away during the third period and the Clippers opened as much as an 18-point advantage midway through the fourth.

Kaman scored 26 points and Davis had 20. Los Angeles shot 54 percent from the field and hit 10-of-16 attempts from 3-point range.

Philadelphia, in the midst of a six-game road trip, failed in its bid for what would have been its first three-game winning streak of the season. The 76ers have only nine total victories.

Lou Williams led Philadelphia with 19 points. Allen Iverson, who has recently missed time with a sore knee, scored seven points while playing 29 minutes.
