LUBBOCK, Texas, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Michael Singletary sank two late free throws Friday, helping No. 24 Texas Tech secure a 76-75 decision over McNeese State.
Singletary's free throws with 18.4 seconds left capped a 27-point, six-rebound, four-steal performance and rallied Tech from a surprising 44-39 halftime deficit.
P.J. Alawoya's layup with 34 seconds left had given McNeese State a 75-74 lead.
Nick Okorie scored 13 points, John Roberson 12 and David Tairu 10 points for the Red Raiders (11-2), who have won two of three.
Diego Kapelan's 20 points led McNeese State.
Patrick Richard scored 18 with eight rebounds and Will Morning added 13 with eight rebounds for the Cowboys (5-8), who have lost three of four.
