WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind., Jan. 1 (UPI) -- JuJuan Johnson's 25 points and 10 rebounds Friday led fourth-ranked Purdue to a 77-62 victory over No. 6 West Virginia.
The battle of the unbeaten teams unfolded at Purdue's Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind.
WVU used an 8-2 run, capped by a 3-pointer by Dalton Pepper, to take a 20-19 lead with 8:43 left in the first half, but Purdue recovered and led 37-32 at the break.
The Boilermakers' lead grew to 77-56 on E'Twaun Moore's jumper with 1:35 left.
Robbie Hummel scored 18 points, Moore 15 with three assists, while Keaton Grant scored eight with six rebounds and four steals for the Boilermakers (13-0), who sank 50 percent of their shots to the Mountaineers' 45.8 percent.
Da'Sean Butler led WVU with 17 points and seven rebounds.
Kevin Jones scored 12 with eight rebounds, and Devin Ebanks added 11 points and six rebounds for the Mountaineers (11-1).
