ALBUQUERQUE, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Darington Hobson had 23 points and 12 rebounds Tuesday to help No. 17 New Mexico knock off No. 24 Texas Tech 90-75.
Curtis Dennis added 14 points to the New Mexico (13-1) effort and Roman Martinez scored 10 to go with 11 rebounds.

Texas Tech (10-2) got 18 points from David Tairu and 14 from Nick Okorie.
New Mexico led by 12 at the half but the Red Raiders cut the margin in half just over 2 minutes into the second half. The Lobos then ran off seven consecutive points to make it 49-36.
The New Mexico lead grew to 16 at the midway point and was 72-52 with 8 minutes to play. The Lobos maintained a comfortable lead the rest of the way.
