NHL: Buffalo 5, St. Louis 3

ST. LOUIS, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Michael Grier and Tim Connelly each scored twice for Buffalo Sunday, carrying the Sabres past the St. Louis Blues 5-3.

Jochen Hecht also scored for Buffalo, which trailed 3-2 heading into the third period.

Grier tied it with his second goal of the contest 3:15 into the third and Connelly followed with his two goals later in the period, one on a power play and the other shorthanded.

Alexander Steen scored twice and Eric Brewer had a goal for the Blues.

Patrick Lalime blocked 32 shots for Buffalo. Ty Conklin gave up all five Buffalo goals and finished with 24 stops for St.Louis.
