COL FB: USC 24, Boston College 13

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Quarterback Matt Barkley accounted for three touchdowns Saturday, leading USC to a 24-13 win over Boston College at the Emerald Bowl in rainy San Francisco.

In the last game of his inconsistent freshman season, Barkley racked up 350 yards, threw two touchdowns to Stanley Havili and ran for a third score.

Jordan Congdon kicked a 38-yard, third-quarter field goal.

Damian Williams caught 12 passes for 189 yards, while Allen Bradford rushed for 72 yards on 17 carries for the Trojans (9-4), who were unranked in the regular season-ending ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll for the first time this decade.

BC quarterback Dave Shinskie threw for 218 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Montel Harris scored once on 23 carries for 102 yards, and senior wide receiver Rich Gunnell, playing his final game, scored once on five receptions for 117 yards for the Eagles (8-5), who were held to 312 yards despite 20 first downs.

They split their last four games.
