NHL: Montreal 3, Toronto 2 (OT)

TORONTO, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Jaroslav Halak made 47 saves to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a 3-2 overtime win over Toronto Saturday.

Andrei Kostitsyn scored just 34 seconds into the overtime period to give Montreal its fourth consecutive win.

Scott Gomez and Tomad Plekanec scored in regulation for Montreal, who were outshot 49-23 in the contest.

Jonas Gustavsson made 20 saves for Toronto. Ian White and Jason Blake scored the Leafs' goals.

Montreal scored twice in the first period to take a 2-0 lead. Toronto chipped away with White's goal in the second period and Blake's tying tally at 2:41 of the third.

Kostitsyn ended the game on the first shot of the overtime period. Kostitsyn took the puck in the right circle and lifted it over the shoulder of Gustavsson, who was screened on the play.
