NEW YORK, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Vaclav Prospal scored his seventh and eighth goals this season Wednesday, boosting the New York Rangers to a 4-1 win over the Florida Panthers.

Prospal's seventh goal (power play) snapped a 1-1 tie at 4:55 of the second period and gave New York a lead it would not relinquish.

Chris Drury and Marian Gaborik (26, shorthanded) also scored.

Drury and Gaborik had one assist each, while Henrik Lundqvist gave up one goal on 34 shots for the Rangers, who recorded their first home ice victory since Nov. 23, a 7-4 rout of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Florida's lone goal was scored by Victor Oreskovich at 4:09 of the first.

Tomas Vokoun gave up four goals on 32 shots for the Panthers, who had won four of five.

Prospal scored the only power-play goal on eight combined chances.
