CHICAGO, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Derrick Rose scored 32 points, including the tying basket with 35.3 seconds left in regulation, to lead Chicago to a 101-98 overtime win over Atlanta.
Rose scored six of his points in overtime, including a pair of clutch free throws with 10.8 seconds to play, that nailed down Chicago's second-consecutive win and ended the Hawks' six-game winning streak.
Luol Deng scored 21 points and had a dozen rebounds for Chicago. John Salmons scored 16.
Joe Johnson scored a season-high 40 points to lead Atlanta. Al Horford added 15.
Atlanta led 92-88 with 1:18 left in regulation, but Kirk Hinrich cut the lead to two with 58.7 seconds to play and Rose drove in for a layup that tied the contest.
In the closely contested overtime period, Rose put the Bulls ahead by three with 59.5 to play and then hit a pair of free throws in the closing seconds that secured the victory.
