COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- William Buford's 18 points and six assists Saturday led 18th-ranked Ohio State in a 60-44 romp over Delaware State.
Delaware State led 7-5 with 12:12 left in the first half, but successive 3-pointers by Jeremie Simmons helped OSU build a 25-17 halftime lead, and the visitors never threatened from that point.
David Lighty scored 12 with four rebounds, and Dallas Lauderdale added 11 points for the Buckeyes (9-2), who have won three in a row since a 74-66 loss to Butler on Dec. 12.
Frisco Sandridge led Delaware State with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Greg Smith scored nine points, while Marcus Neal and Alibaba Odd scored seven apiece for the Hornets (4-5), who have lost four in a row.
They won the turnover battle, committing 10 to 13 for the Buckeyes.
