EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Dec. 19 (UPI) -- No. 9 Villanova rode 17-point performances from Antonio Pena, Scottie Reynolds and Corey Fisher Saturday to a 96-58 romp over Fordham.

The best the 2-7 Rams could do was 12 points and 11 rebounds by Chris Gaston and 10 points from each from Alberto Estwick and Brenton Butler.

It was Redding's first game this season after being benched for violating the student code of conduct.

The Rams led this game early, going up 13-12 with 13:14 left in the first half. But the Wildcats engineered a 19-6 run to go up 31-19 and then put together a 9-0 spurt for a 44-26 edge with under 3 minutes to go before halftime.

Fordham countered with an 11-2 run that cut its deficit to 46-37 and got with 49-42 early in the second half. An 8-0 Villanova run put the game back out of reach and the Rams never threatened again.
