PITTSBURGH, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Jordan Staal scored twice and Sidney Crosby contributed a goal and two assists Tuesday to lead the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 6-1 rout of Philadelphia.

The Penguins also got goals and assists from Evgeni Malkin and Ruslan Fedotenko while Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 26 of 27 shots, notching his 19th win of the season.

Dan Carcillo scored the lone goal for the Flyers, while goalie Brian Boucher was touched for all six Pittsburgh goals on 35 shots.

The Flyers' fading hopes for a win evaporated at 2:15 of the third period when Carcillo appeared to have scored, which would have brought Philadelphia to within 4-2. But a review of the play found he had directed the puck into the net with a kicking motion, and the score was wiped out.

Fedotenko followed with a score to give the Pens a four-goal edge with 7:43 left in the game.
