NHL: Minnesota 2, Columbus 1

ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Marek Zidlicky scored with 38.8 seconds left Tuesday to lift the Minnesota Wild to a 2-1 victory over Columbus.

With traffic stationed in front of Columbus goalie Steve Mason, Zidlicky unleashed a slapshot that caught the upper corner, giving Minnesota its third win in four games.

The Wild improved their home record to 10-3-1 as Guillaume Latendresse also notched a goal and Niklas Backstrom stopped 21-of-22 shots for Minnesota.

The Blue Jackets got their lone goal from Rick Nash as they dropped their fourth straight. Mason stopped 21-of-23 shots for Columbus.

Nash broke a scoreless tie at 3:41 of the second but Latendresse's score at 8:08 tied the score at 1-1. Koivu fed him a backhand a pass from behind the net to set up the score.
