The Vols led by a single point at the half, 42-41, but slowly built their lead in the second frame. After an Afam Muojeke bucket drew Wyoming to within three at 52-49, Tennessee rattled off seven straight points, capped by a Melvin Goins jumper with 13:25 to go to put his team up 59-49.
Muojeke registered a game-high 15 points for the Cowboys (5-5), who saw their three-game win streak halted. A.J. Davis added nine points and pulled down seven rebounds as Wyoming committed 29 turnovers and was an anemic 5-of-19 shooting from the field in the second half.
