Home of football coach Kelly egged

CINCINNATI, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Former University of Cincinnati football coach Brian Kelly said his Cincinnati home was hit by eggs in the wake of his decision to coach football at Notre Dame.

Kelly, who agreed last week to take over as football coach at the University of Notre Dame, said Sunday via the social networking service Twitter that his home was hit by numerous eggs, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported Monday.

"Spent most of the morning on the phone with recruits. House got egged last night and the sign on the lawn wasn't a for sale sign," Kelly said on Twitter.

"Family dinner included a side dish of scrambled eggs (lol) Kidding aside the people of Cincy have been awesome," he added, using the abbreviation for "laugh out loud."

Kelly's former Cincinnati Bearcats team is scheduled to take on the Florida Gators in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1.
