NHL: Calgary 3, Atlanta 1

CALGARY, Alberta, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Miikka Kiprusoff allowed a lone goal on 25 shots Wednesday in bringing Calgary a 3-1 decision over Atlanta.

Kiprusoff won for the 18th time this season and has allowed no more than two goals in any of his last nine starts.

Colby Armstrong ended Kiprusoff's bid for a shutout on a backhander with 7:33 to play in the third period, cutting Atlanta's deficit to 2-1.

Rene Bourque clinched the victory by scoring into an empty net with 40 seconds remaining.

Nigel Dawes and Olli Jokinen gave Calgary a 2-0 lead with second-period goals. Johan Hedberg took the loss while making 29 saves.
