NBA: Boston 98, Milwaukee 89

BOSTON, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- The Boston Celtics on Tuesday won their eighth consecutive game, downing the Milwaukee Bucks 98-89 behind Kevin Garnett's 25 points.

Garnett, who also grabbed nine rebounds, moved past Hal Greer to become the 25th all-time leading scorer in NBA history. He has scored 21,601 points. Next on the all-time list is Boston legend Larry Bird with 21,791 points.

Rajon Rondo scored all 11 of his points in the fourth quarter, contributed 13 assists and nine rebounds for the Celtics, whose last loss came Nov. 20. Paul Pierce and Kendrick Perkins each chipped in with 15 points.

Ersan Ilyasova's layup with 5 minutes left tied the score 86-86 but Boston finished the game on a 12-3 run. Garnett's hook shot capped the spurt with 2 1/2 minutes left.

Andrew Bogut scored 25 points and 14 grabbed rebounds to lead the Bucks, who have dropped eight of their last nine games. Ilyasova added 19 points and Brandon Jennings chipped in 17.
