Troy Merritt leads PGA qualifier

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Troy Merritt was the leader at 18-under-par Sunday in the suspended fifth round of the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Merritt finished 12 holes before play at the Bear Lakes Country Club was stopped because of darkness.

Graham DeLaet was at 16-under and Jeff Maggert and Brenden Pappas at 14-under.

Contenders are to complete the fifth round and begin the sixth and final round Monday with the low 25 players (and ties) earning PGA Tour cards for next year.

The tournament was running behind schedule because of weather delays.
