NHL: N.Y. Rangers 2, Buffalo 1

BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Henrik Lundqvist had a shutout going until less than a minute to play in regulation and held on to give the New York Rangers a 2-1 win over Buffalo Saturday.

Lundqvist finished with 36 saves and held the Sabres scoreless until 19:01 of the third period when Jason Pominville put Buffalo on the board.

Christopher Higgins scored at 17:31 of the first period to stake the visiting Rangers to a 1-0 lead that stood until 13:44 of the third period when Ray Callahan scored on a rebound to make it 2-0.

Ryan Miller had 30 saves for the Sabres, whose four-game winning streak ended.

The win snapped the Rangers' three-game losing streak.
