COL BKB: Illinois 76, Clemson74

CLEMSON, S.C., Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Brandon Paul's late free throw Wednesday secured Illinois' 76-74 upset of 19th-ranked Clemson at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Paul followed a go-ahead jumper by Mike Tisdale, capping a rally from a 47-27 halftime deficit.

Mike Davis led Illinois with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Paul scored 20 with five rebounds and three steals. D.J. Richardson added 14 points, and Tisdale scored 12 with seven rebounds and three blocked shots for the Fighting Illini (5-2), who overcame 14 turnovers with five steals, eight blocked shots and a 35-32 rebounding edge.

Demontez Stitt led Clemson with 15 points and three steals.

Trevor Booker, the only other player in double figures, scored 12 with 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals for the Tigers (6-2), who have split their last four contests.
