COL FB: Virginia Tech 42, Virginia 13

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Ryan Williams scored four touchdowns Saturday, powering 14th-ranked Virginia Tech to a 42-13 ACC victory over arch-rival Virginia.

It was Tech's sixth straight win in the battle for the Commonwealth Cup and likely ended the nine-year tenure of Virginia Coach Al Groh.

The Cavaliers scored on their first possession and trailed just 14-13 at the half, but the Hokies scored the game's final 28 points, including 21 in the fourth quarter.

Williams, the potential ACC Freshman of the Year, gained 182 yards on 23 carries.

Tyrod Taylor passed for 185 yards, Danny Coale caught six passes for 135 yards. Jarrett Boykin and David Wilson added late touchdowns for the Hokies (9-3, 6-2), who carry a four-game winning streak into next Saturday's ACC title game against Georgia Tech.

Jameel Sewell passed for 121 yards and ran for 104 with one touchdown for the Cavaliers..

Robert Randolph added two field goals for the Cavaliers (3-9, 2-6), who lost their final six games.
