COL BKB: Tennessee 86, Col. of Char. 69

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Two 3-pointers by Scotty Hopson touched off a first-half run Friday that helped bring No. 11 Tennessee an 86-69 decision over the College of Charleston.

Hopson scored 21 points while Tyler Smith had 18 and five assists. Tennessee (5-1) won its first four games of the season before falling to Purdue in the title game of the Paradise Jam Monday.

Donovan Monroe scored 16 points to lead the College of Charleston (1-3).

The Volunteers owned a 22-20 lead midway through the opening half when Hopson's back-to-back long-range shots ignited a 12-2 run. Tennessee went on to a 41-33 halftime lead.
