COL BKB: Texas 78, Pittsburgh 62

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- The third-ranked Texas Longhorns got 20 points from Damion James and downed Pittsburgh 78-62 to win the CBE Classic title in Kansas City, Mo.

James also had nine rebounds and J'Covan Brown scored 12 for Texas (4-0), which won the tournament in 2005.

The Longhorns had three other players in double figures despite losing starting guard Varez Ward, who went down with an injured right knee during warm ups and had to be wheeled off the court on a stretcher.

Pittsburgh (4-1) was led by Brad Wanamaker's 13 points and Gary McGhee's 11.

James sparked a 14-3 run for the Longhorns by sinking a 3-point shot with the score tied 51-51. The surge put Texas ahead 65-54 with less than 6 1/2 minutes to play.

Texas outscored Pitt 11-3 in the home stretch of the game to clinch the tournament title.
