COL BKB: Cincinnati 68, Maryland 57

MAUI, Hawaii, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Yancy Gates scored 17 points and Deonta Vaughn added 16 Tuesday to pace Cincinnati to a 68-57 upset of No. 22 Maryland in the Maui Invitational.

With the win, the Bearcats (4-0) will play Wednesday against the winner of Tuesday's game between Gonzaga and Wisconsin.

Lance Stephenson had 11 points and eight rebounds for Cincinnati, which got hot during a 20-4 spurt to close out the first half, taking a 31-18 lead at into the locker room.

During the decisive run, Vaughn scored 10 points, including a jumper to put the Bearcats up 25-14.

Greivis Vasquez led the Terrapins (4-1) with 19 points on just 5-of-17 shooting. Maryland got nine points each from Sean Mosley and James Padgett.
