Hagman sealed the victory when he scored in the third round of the shootout after Phil Kessel had scored in the first round.

Vesa Toskala stopped 31 of 32 shots, including two key saves in the shootout before Hagman's clinching goal.

Hagman's goal with 3:11 left in the second period tied the game 1-1. Hagman was in the right place to tip in a rebound from behind the net.

Alex Ovechkin had given Washington a 1-0 advantage with 2:49 left in the first period on a wrist shot off a pass from Mike Green, who had won a battle for the puck at the blue line.
