AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Damion James scored 18 points Wednesday and third-ranked Texas shot 53 percent from the field as the Longhorns blasted Western Carolina 73-41.

Texas has opened its season at 2-0, defeating opponents by a combined score of 162-83.

The Longhorns held Western Carolina scoreless for more than five minutes in the first half and took a 43-24 lead at the break.

Gary Johnson, Varez Ward and J'Covan Brown each had 10 points.

The Catamounts (1-1) were led by 10 points from Harouna Mutombo.
