NHL: Nashville 4, San Jose 3

NASHVILLE, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- The Nashville Predators continued to build momentum by edging San Jose 4-3 Tuesday for their third consecutive win.

David Legwand scored the game-winning goal at 10:57 of the second period and Pekka Rinne made 29 saves for the Predators, who are 7-3-0 in their last 10 contests and within five points of first place in the NHL Central.

Steve Sullivan, Jerred Smithson and Joel Ward also scored for Nashville, who built up a 4-1 goal on Legwand's snapper from the right circle. Legwand and Ward were also credited with two assists each.

Scott Nichol, Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau scored the San Jose goals. Thornton also had an assist and Thomas Greiss finished with 27 saves.

The Sharks failed to pick up at least one point for the first time in 13 games.
