ALBUQUERQUE, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Max Hall's two touchdown passes Saturday helped No. 22 Brigham Young escape with a 24-19 Mountain West Conference victory against New Mexico.
Hall completed 21-of-33 passes for 314 yards.
His first scoring pass, to Andrew George in the second quarter, gave BYU a 17-7 halftime lead and the second, to Luke Ashworth, upped the lead to 24-13 on the final play in the third.
Ashworth caught four passes for 64 yards.
Harvey Unga gained 50 yards on 11 carries, and Andrew George caught a 27-yard, second-quarter touchdown pass for the Cougars (8-2, 5-1), who have won six of seven.
Donovan Porterie led winless New Mexico with 272 passing yards, two touchdowns and a 3-yard scoring run in the first quarter.
Darryl Jones added eight catches for 94 yards with one touchdown for the Lobos (0-10, 0-6), who have lost their last 14 games overall.
