MONTREAL, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Mike Cammalleri's shootout goal Saturday gave the Montreal Canadiens a 5-4 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Canadiens had blown a two-goal third-period lead to allow the Maple Leafs to pull into a tie.

Glen Metropolit, Guillaume Latendresse, Hal Gill and Roman Hamrlik also scored for Montreal and Jaroslav Halak made 26 stops to post his fifth win of the season.

Alexei Ponikarovsky tallied twice for the Leafs, who fell for the fourth consecutive time beyond regulation and finished the first month of the season with a 1-7-4 record.

Vesa Toskala stopped 35 shots for Toronto, which suffered through its first one-win October since 1985.
