NHL: Phoenix 4, Columbus 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Goalie Jason LaBarbera made 31 saves on 32 shots Wednesday, leading the Phoenix Coyotes to a 4-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Following a 1-0 deficit after the first period, Martin Hanzal (power play) and Jim Vandermeer scored about 3 1/2 minutes apart in the second, giving Phoenix a 2-1 lead.

Zbynek Michalek and Robert Lang scored power-play goals in the third, while Keith Yandle had three assists for the Coyotes, who had lost their last two games.

Derick Brassard's power play tally at 18:21 of the first produced the lone goal for Columbus.

Steve Mason allowed four goals on 23 shots for the Blue Jackets, who have lost two in a row and four of five.

On the power play, Phoenix went 3-for-6, while Columbus was 1-for-5 with the man-advantage.
