In his 11th straight appearance at Moscow's Olympic Stadium, the Moscow native rose to 5-6 in title matches.

"I had so many chances in the final set to win more easily," Youzhny admitted. "(But) I kept telling myself to go for it. This is my most important title for sure, to win at home in front of family and friends is just incredible."

Youzhny took home $170,000.

Tipsarevic was appearing in his first ever final and was 2-0 against Youzhny before Sunday's loss.
