Woman claims McNair is daughter's dad

NASHVILLE, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- A Mississippi woman who claims slain NFL quarterback Steve McNair is her daughter's father says the girl deserves a share of his estate.

Clover Lee claims in court documents filed Friday that McNair is the biological father of her 17-year-old daughter, identified only as J. N. L., and says the girl should to be named an heir to McNair's fortune, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported.

The newspaper says Lee is from the former Tennessee Titan's hometown of Mount Olive, Miss. She reportedly has asked the court that McNair's estate, valued at $19.6 million, be required to pay "all back due support as allowed by law."

McNair reportedly left no will.

Lee's attorney, David Pitre of Gulfport, Miss., told the newspaper that "we expect that questions of paternity and heirship will soon be conclusively answered by DNA testing, which is currently being conducted."

McNair, 36, was shot to death by his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, 20, July 4 in Nashville. Police say Kazemi committed suicide after killing McNair.
