ASHBURN, Va., Oct. 18 (UPI) -- The Washington Redskins stripped Coach Jim Zorn of his play-calling duties following Sunday's 14-6 loss to Kansas City, ESPN reported.
Sunday's loss to the Chiefs marked Washington's third against a team without a win in its last four games.
After the contest, ESPN said Vinny Cerrato, executive vice president of football operations, told Zorn he has too many responsibilities.
The Redskins have lost to Detroit, Carolina and Kansas City, but beat Tampa Bay.
"I've got to be better (and) it really irritates me," Zorn said at a post-game news conference. "It's going to be a very hard week."
Sunday, Zorn benched starting quarterback Jason Campbell in favor of 38-year-old backup Todd Collins, but in a dismal effort, the Redskins compiled only 265 offensive yards, made seven first downs and went 2-for-14 on third-down conversions.
An announcement about who would handle calling plays is expected on Monday.
