COL FB: BYU 38, San Diego St. 28

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Max Hall's three touchdown passes Saturday keyed No. 19 Brigham Young's 38-28 Mountain West Conference victory against San Diego State.

BYU recorded the 500th victory in school history.

Overall, Hall completed 27-of-39 passes for 346 yards.

He added a 1-yard scoring run on the last play of the second quarter, creating a 21-21 halftime tie.

Harvey Unga scored once on 26 carries for 81 yards.

Hall rushed for 47 yards on 14 attempts, while Andrew George and Dennis Pitta combined for two touchdowns on 147 receiving yards for the Cougars (6-1, 3-0), who beat SDSU for the eighth time in their last nine meetings.

Quarterback Ryan Lindley led San Diego State with 21-of-33 passing for 298 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

Receivers Vincent Brown and DeMarco Sampson combined for 13 receptions for 234 yards, with Sampson scoring twice for the Aztecs (2-4, 0-2), who had just 20 net rushing yards.
