COL FB: Georgia Tech 49, Florida State 44

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Josh Nesbitt ran for 140 yards and three touchdowns to lead 22nd-ranked Georgia Tech to a 49-44 win over Florida State in Tallahassee.

Nesbitt completed 4-of-8 passes for 131 yards while Jonathan Dwyer rushed for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Yellow Jackets (5-1, 3-1ACC).

Christian Ponder completed 26-of-36 passes for a career-best 359 yards with five touchdowns for the Seminoles (2-4, 0-3). Ponder's fourth-quarter fumble helped Georgia Tech seal the win, with Nesbitt completing a drive with a run up the middle for a 22-yard score with 6:29 left.

The Seminoles scored in the first quarter with a 67-yard drive that ended with a 3-yard touchdown run by Jermaine Thomas. The Yellow Jackets then scored with a 73-yard drive to even the score as Nesbitt scored on a one-yard dash with 6:50 left in the quarter.

Georgia Tech took control of the game, 42-38, with 2:55 left in the third quarter on Marcus Wright's 19-yard scoring run.
